Reason advances a free society by developing, applying, and promoting libertarian principles, including individual liberty, free markets, and the rule of law. Robert Poole founded the Reason Foundation in 1978, and served as its President and CEO until the end of 2000. He has advised the Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and George W.
