Recent Action on Intelligence Reform
On July 22, the 9/11 Commission released its recommendations for reform of the Nation’s intelligence system. Senate hearings followed during the August congressional recess. The Commission, many of the families of 9/11 victims, and the White House all pressed for swift action on the Commission’s proposals. In response, both the House and Senate drafted legislation providing for a major shake-up of how the Nation’s intelligence community is structured.Senate Action.
