WTO Case and Settlement Procedures
WorldTrade Organization (WTO) disputes are conducted under the terms of the WTOUnderstanding on the Rules and Procedures Governing the Settlement of Disputes(Dispute Settlement Understanding, or DSU). TheDSU, which entered into force with the establishment of the World TradeOrganization on January 1, 1995, carries forward and expands upon disputesettlement practices developed under the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade(GATT). The DSU is administered by the WTO Dispute Settlement Body (DSB), whichis composed of all WTO members.
