The Health Privacy Project, created in 1977 by Janlori Goldman,is dedicated to raising public awareness of the importance ofensuring health privacy in order to improve health care accessand quality, on both an individual and a community level. TheProject also coordinates the Consumer Coalition for Health Privacy,composed of consumer and disability rights groups committed toeducating and empowering health care consumers at the Federal,State, and local levels.
