Iran Nuclear Deal Withdrawal
As expected, on May 8, President Trump announced that he would not sign a new waiver of congressionally imposed sanctions on Iran that were lifted by President Barack Obama in 2016 when implementation of the nuclear deal with that country went into effect. The President’s decision leaves the Iran nuclear agreement, forged by seven countries in 2015 after two years of negotiations, in an uncertain state.
