Congressman Boehlert, of the Twenty-third District of New York, was first elected to the US House of Representatives in 1982. He served as Administrative Assistant to US Representative Alexander Pirnie (NY-R) from 1964 to 1972, and to US Representative Donald Mitchell (NY-R) from 1973 to 1978. He was Oneida County Executive from 1978 to 1982. He is a member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and Chairman of the Subcommittee on Water Resources and the Environment within that committee.
