In five short years, the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act has evolved from an idea to a law to a way of life. Today, educators, public officials, and the media are engaged in a nationwide conversation, debating whether academic standards are high enough, assessments are fair enough, and enforcement is tough enough.
