Environmental Defense, founded in 1967, is a national nonprofit organization representing more than 300,000 members. Its mission is to link science, economics, and law to create innovative, equitable, and cost-effective solutions to society’s most urgent environmental problems. Since 1988, Rod Fujita’s work has focused on applied research, policy analysis, and advocacy for Environmental Defense on water quality protection, fisheries management, marine reserves, and ecosystem protection. He recently helped establish the Sambos Ecological Reserve, a no-take reserve in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary.
