Senator Kerry was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 1984.He served in the Navy in Vietnam from 1966 to 1970 and was anorganizer of Vietnam Veterans Against the War. He was AssistantDistrict Attorney of Middlesex County (Massachusetts) from 1976to 1981. He was Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts from 1982to 1984.
