Sen. Booker was elected to the U.S. Senate in October 2013 in a special election. He was re-elected to a full term in November 2014. Prior to Congress, he was the mayor of Newark, New Jersey, from 2006 to 2013. He has been recognized as a national leader on criminal justice reform issues and serves on the following committees in the 116th Congress: Foreign Relations; Judiciary; Small Business and Entrepreneurship; and Environment and Public Works.
