Recent Developments in Congress

On April 7, the House passed legislation, 255 to 172, to stop enforcement of controversial greenhouse gas regulations. H.R. 910, the Energy Tax Prevention Act, sponsored by House Energy and Commerce Chairman Fred Upton, would amend the Clean Air Act to prevent the Environmental Protection Agency from regulating stationary sources of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases to address climate change. The bill would not affect the regulation of greenhouse gases to relating to automobile emissions, however.
