Representative Eshoo, of the Fourteenth District of California, was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1992. She served as Chair of the of the San Mateo County Democratic Party in 1980, as Chief of Staff to the Speaker of the California Assembly in 1981, and on the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors from 1982 to 1992, where she was president in 1986.
