Representative King, of the Second District of New York, was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1993. He served as Nassau County, New York, Deputy Attorney from 1972 to 1974, as a Member of the Hempstead, New York, Town Council from 1977 to 1981, and as Nassau County Comptroller from 1981 to 1993.
