Guns and Suspected Terrorists
A few hours after the mass shooting on December 2 in San Bernardino, California, President Obama called on Congress to pass a law that would prevent individuals on the “No Fly List” from legally purchasing firearms. The list, created after the 9/11 attacks and maintained by the U.S. Government’s Terrorist Screening Center, contains the names of people (currently about 4,700) who are not permitted to board a commercial aircraft for travel in or out of the United States.
