Itbegan airing television advertisements opposing such filibusters and calling onviewers to contact Senators Russell Feingold (WI-D) and Herb Kohl (WI-D).Because Senator Feingold was running for reelection in 2004, a Federal districtcourt ruled that WRTL’s ads were “electioneering communication paid for withcorporate money, which must be ceased 60 days prior to Election Day, asstipulated by the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act (BCRA).
