Charlie Craig and David Mullins are a Colorado couple who traveled to Massachusetts in 2012 to get married because, at the time, their home State did not recognize gay weddings. Upon return to their home in Denver, they planned to host a reception to commemorate the event. On the recommendation of their wedding planner, they visited Masterpiece Cakeshop to order a custom-made cake for their celebration. They were informed by the store’s owner, Jack C.
