Gunter Pleuger
Germany began a two-year term as an elected member of the Security Council on January 1, 2003. It is considered to be one of the leading candidates for permanent-member status if the Security Council were to expand. Gunter Pleuger has served as Germany’s UN Ambassador since November 2002.
