Thailand’s only term as an elected member of the Security Council was in 1985_86. Pravit Chaimongkol is Thailand’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations. The following is excerpted from Chaimongkol’s address to the United Nations General Assembly on October 15, 2003.
