Schools Can Be Held Liable for Student-on-Student Harassment
This case was granted certiorari on September 29, 1998. On May 24, 1999, by a vote of 5 to 4, the case was reversed and remanded, ruling for Davis.In a landmark sexual harassment case, the Court decided that schools can be held liable for student-on-student sexual harassment under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
