Linda Maria Meoli, Counsel of RecordIn September 1998, the Board of Education in Pottawatomie County, located in Tecumseh, Oklahoma, adopted a policy of drug testing students in seventh through twelfth grades who competed in any form of interscholastic competition. This included those on athletic teams, as well as in extracurricular activities such as Future Homemakers of America, choir, and band. The board cited an ongoing drug problem in local schools as the grounds for instituting this testing.
