According to the United Nations Office of the Coordination for Humanitarian Affairs, the current drought in the Horn of Africa is the worst in 60 years. An estimated 12.4 million people in Somalia, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Djibouti are affected, making the drought both a humanitarian and a security crisis. Famine has been declared in areas of Somalia that are difficult to access, and refugees from that country are pouring into Kenya and Ethiopia.
