Overtime Rule
On November 22, a Federal district judge in Texas temporarily halted a Labor Department rule that would have extended overtime pay to 4.2 million Americans. The rule, which had been set to take effect on December 1, set a new salary threshold of $47,476 per year under which white-collar workers must be classified as “non-exempt” from overtime laws — making them eligible for overtime pay.
