On February 27, the House, by a vote of 363 to 62, passed S. 47, the John D. Dingell, Jr. Conservation, Management, and Recreaction Act, clearing it for the President’s signature. The bill was named after the late former Representative John D. Dingell, who sponsored some of the Nation’s landmark conservation laws during his 59 years in the House. The Senate approved the measure on February 26, 2018, by a vote of 2 to 8. The act is the biggest public lands bill to pass both Houses of Congress in more than a decade.
