Representative Hoekstra, of the Second District of Michigan, was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1992. He was a furniture executive with Herman Miller Company from 1977 to 1992. He is the Ranking Minority Member of the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. He also serves on the Education and Labor Committee.
