The U.S. Postal Service’s (USPS) years of financial losses have put the agency at the risk of running out of cash next year. Despite raising alarms about the perilous fiscal situation — and the harm it could do to Americans across the country — Congress has not passed a major reform bill. Congress last passed a major Postal Service bill in 2006 to address technological changes and address out-of-date rates.
