Edward Still, Counsel of RecordJerome Gray, Sherman Norfleet, Gwendolyn Patton, Isaiah Sumbry and Dianne Wilkerson are African Americans in black-majority congressional districts. Also joining in the brief are the American Jewish Congress and the National Urban League. Mr. Still has been the Director of the Voting Rights Project of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law and has argued several cases before the Supreme Court since 1997. Prior to that, he was in private practice in Birmingham, Alabama, specializing in voting rights and employment cases. He received his law degree from the University of Alabama in 1971.
