Senator Casey was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 2006. He served as Auditor General of Pennsylvania from 1997 to 2005 and as Treasurer of Pennsylvania from 2005 to 2007. He sits on the following committees: Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, where he chairs the Subcommittee on Nutrition, Specialty Crops, Food, and Agricultural Research; Foreign Relations, where he chairs the Subcommittee on Near Eastern and South and Central Asian Affairs; Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions; and the Special Committee on Aging.
