Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing
China is a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council. It joined the UN on October 24, 1945. Li Zhaoxing has served as China’s foreign minister since March 2003. From 1993 to 1995, he was the Chinese permanent representative to the UN.
