The expansive growth of gambling and the evolution oftechnology inevitably have converged to produce the world’s fastest-growingonline industry: Internet gambling. Global revenues from this relatively recentphenomenon were $16 billion in 2006; estimates are that they will reach $150billion by 2010.             The currentlegal status of online gambling in the United States is unclear — theinternational nature of the Internet makes prohibition easy to evade anddifficult to enforce.
