Within the U.S. Department of Defense, the Ballistic Missile Defense Organization is responsible for managing, directing, and executing the Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) Program. The program focuses on three areas: theater missile defense (TMD), national missile defense (NMD), and advanced ballistic missile defense technologies. General Kadish assumed his current position in 1999. He is the Acquisition Executive for all BMD systems and programs. Previously, he was Commander of the Electronic Systems Center, Air Force Materiel Command, at Hanscome Air Force Base, Massachusetts.
