Representative Souder, of the Fourth District of Indiana, was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1994. He was the Staff Director of the U.S. House Select Committee on Children, Youth, and Families from 1984 to 1989, and served on the staff of U.S. Senator Dan Coats (IN-R) from 1989 to 1993, first as Legislative Director and then as Deputy Chief of Staff.
