Representative Mink, of Hawaii’s Second District, was elected to the House of Representatives in 1990. She served in the Hawaii House of Representatives from 1956 to 1958, in the Hawaii Senate in 1959 and from 1963 to 1964, in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1964 to 1976, as U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Oceans and International Environment and Scientific Affairs from 1977 to 1978, and on the Honolulu City Council from 1983 to 1987.
