Representative Goodlatte, of the Sixth District of Virginia, was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1992. He was District Director for U.S. Representative Caldwell Butler from 1977 to 1979 and founded a private law practice in 1979. He serves on the Agriculture Committee, and as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Department Operations, Nutrition and Foreign Agriculture within that committee, and on the Judiciary Committee.
