The Brookings Institution is a private nonprofit organization devoted to independent research and innovative policy solutions. Its goal is to provide high-quality analysis and recommendations for decisionmakers in the United States and abroad on the full range of challenges facing an increasingly interdependent world. William Galston has been a Senior Fellow at Brookings since January 2006. He is also a professor in the School of Public Policy at the University of Maryland.
