Representative Souder, of the Third District of Indiana, was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1994. He was Staff Director of the U.S. House Select Committee on Children, Youth, and Families from 1984 to 1989, Legislative Director for then-Senator Dan Coats (IN-R) from 1989 to 1991, and Deputy Chief of Staff for Senator Coats from 1991 to 1993.
