In a Related Case, the Court Ruled Bringing Members of the Media on a Police Raid Violates the Fourth Amendment

This case was granted certiorari on November 9, 1998, and vacated and remanded on May 24, 1999, following the Court’s decision in the related case, Charles H. Wilson, et ux., et al. v. Harry Layne, et al.In its decision in these cases, the Court put severe limits on the instances when journalists can accompany police during warranted searches and raids.
