Pakistan has been a member of the UN since September 30, 1947. Masood Khan has served as the Pakistani permanent representative to the UN since October 12, 2012. The following is excerpted from Ambassador Khan’s statement during UN General Assembly debate on April 2, 2013, on the Arms Trade Treaty. We recognize and support the humanitarian spirit that has guided the initiative toward an arms trade treaty.
