Extending the Mandate of the Investigating Commission

The Security Council met this afternoon to consider the situation in the Middle East, in response to the latest report and briefing by the Commissioner of the United Nations International Independent Investigating Commission, Detlev Mehlis, on December 13.  The Council had before it two letters from the Prime Minister of Lebanon to the Secretary-General.
