Representative Gekas, of the Seventeenth District of Pennsylvania, was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1982. He served as Assistant District Attorney for Daphin County, Pennsylvania, from 1960 to 1966, as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1966 to 1975, and as a member of the Pennsylvania Senate from 1976 to 1983.
