Representative Conyers, of the Fourteenth District of Michigan, was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1964. He was a Legislative Assistant to U.S. Representative John Dingell from 1958 to 1961 and a Referee for the Michigan Women’s Compensation Department from 1961 to 1963.
