Representative Jackson Lee, of the Eighteenth District of Texas, was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1994. She was Staff Counsel for the U.S. House Select Assassinations Committee from 1977 to 1978, a Houston Associate Municipal Judge from 1987 to 1990, and a member of the Houston City Council from 1990 to 1994. She serves on the Judiciary Committee and the Science Committee.
