Gregory A. Karle, Counsel of RecordOn September 24, 1994, the City Council of Erie, Pennsylvania, passed an ordinance that prohibited all public nudity within the town’s limits. Pap’s A.M., which operated a strip club in Erie, filed suit against the city and the City Council members on October 14, claiming the law violated its First Amendment freedom of speech. After the ordinance was struck down in trial court and upheld upon appeal to an intermediate court, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania ruled the law unconstitutional on October 21, 1997. Gregory A.
