Medicare For All
On April 30, the House Rules Committee held an initial hearing on the Medicare for All Act. Representatives Pramila Jayapal (WA-D) and Debbie Dingell (MI-D) introduced the legislative proposal, which has more than 100 co-sponsors. The bill would place most Americans on a health care plan paid for by the government. Taxes would go up. But health care consumers would see a reduction in premiums, copays, and other insurance costs. Five of the nine Democrats on the panel at the hearing have already endorsed the bill.
