Founded in 1991, the American Lands Alliance, formerly the Western Ancient Forest Campaign, represents citizens nationwide who are working to protect wildlife and wild places. Its mission is to protect forest, grassland, and aquatic ecosystems, preserve biological diversity, restore landscape and watershed integrity, and promote environmental justice within those goals. The organization focuses on training grassroots activitists and developing and implementing national strategies to protect national wildlands. Randi Spivak is a long-time forest advocate with experience in national campaigns, advocacy, and marketing.
