Senator Isakson was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 2004. From 1976 to 1990, he served in the Georgia House of Representatives, where he was Republican Leader from 1983 to 1990. He served in the Georgia Senate from 1993 to 1996 and in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1999 to 2004.
