Senator Enzi was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 1996. He served as Mayor of Gillette (Wyoming) from 1975 to 1982, in the Wyoming House of Representatives from 1986 to 1990, and in the Wyoming Senate from 1990 to 1996. He chairs the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions and also sits on the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, the Committee on the Budget, and the Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship.
