Brazil joined the United Nations on October 24, 1945. The following is excerpted from a proposal presented by Brazil on June 3, 2005, to the Interministerial Group on Information Society Subgroup on Internet Governance in preparation for the United Nations World Summit on the Information Society in Tunis, Tunisia.
