In addition to service as senior vice minister for the Cabinet Office, Kenzo Yoneda is chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party’s Security Policy Parliamentary League and director of the Special Committee on Responses to Armed Attacks. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1993 and, prior to that, served on the Yokohama City Assembly.
