Olson, Solicitor GeneralThe United States is an amicus in this case because of its involvement in the preservation of the Lake Tahoe area and the applicability of the Fifth Amendment to Federal environmental regulations. Theodore B. Olson was nominated to be Solicitor General by President George W. Bush on February 14, 2001, and confirmed by the Senate on May 24.
