Dratel, Counsel of Record The National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers was founded in 1958 to promote research in the field of criminal law; to advance knowledge of the law in the area of criminal practice; and to encourage the integrity, independence and expertise of defense lawyers in criminal cases. It has a membership of over 10,000 lawyers. Mr. Dratel has run a private law practice in New York City since 1996 and is co-chair of the Amicus Committee of the NACDL.
